Approached by Love Island bosses to front a new series for ITV, Ekin-Su Culculoglu instead pitched them an idea for a documentary about UFOs and aliens, sources say
This year’s Love Island: All Stars could be out of this world. Bosses are desperate to sign Ekin-Su Culculoglu for January’s series, following her split from fellow 2022 winner Davide Sanclimenti.
ITV execs swooped in to pitch to her at last week’s National Television Awards, but Ekin-Su had her own idea for them: she wants to front her own documentary series about aliens.
A source said: “Ekin-Su is determined to front a documentary about UFOs, and spoke to all the ITV bigwigs about her idea while they were trying to encourage her to return to Love Island. Her quirkiness is part of her charm and the reason she is great telly.”
During Ekin-Su’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, which came after her split from Davide and after an appearance on the US version of The Traitors, the reality star admitted she felt she had “lost” herself, and now felt “defined” by TV shows. However, her response to ITV is said not to be a definite no, so there is still hope she could return.
Davide has previously said he would love to go on All Stars if he were single but said the last series, in January, was “too fresh after Ekin”.
Ekin-Su has discussed her alien encounters on Love Island and CBB.
Her mum has even claimed Ekin was fathered by an alien. Any documentary could reveal whether she was joking.
