Flight attendant Cassandra Martin said she couldn’t hope to explain the phenomenon she saw in the skies during a private flight to Florida just two days before Christmas
A private jet flight crew was left stunned after they saw a clear-cut UFO “zigzagging” through the air as their plane travelled at 45,000 feet.
Florida-bound crewmembers have told of how they saw strange glowing orbs darting through the sky while flying high above the Bahamas on December 23. The group, flying with private carrier Surjet, said they saw two objects darting through the skies while en route to Fort Lauderdale.
One flight attendant said she and two pilots saw the objects appear at night as white lights, which turned green as they watched. She added they appeared to have been bathed in an “electric energy” as they passed through the sky, and the sighting has sparked a quest for answers from the stunned crew.
Speaking to NBC News, Cassandra Martin said the object stayed with the plane for around 45 minutes before disappearing into the night, adding that air traffic control also caught sight of the unidentified object. She said: “It started as white and then it just got green and almost like an electric some type of energy around it.
“All of a sudden I heard traffic control say, we have a foreign object, can you please identify. I looked to the left, and a pilot saw three objects, I only saw one, and I grabbed my phone, I just pressed it to the window to see if I could get a video of what the object was.” Ms Martin couldn’t explain what she saw, but was able to take photos of the phenomenon.
Her pictures show what looks, on first glance, like the moon, but on closer inspection appear like white discs surrounded by some kind of electromagnetic field. She said the unusual glowing orbs exhibited “daunting” flying capabilities and stayed with the aircraft while it cruised at an altitude of roughly 44,000ft.
She described the path taken by the objects as “zigzags”, with the unusual movements effectively ruling out more commonplace aerial objects like drones or weather balloons – both of which have prompted similar confusion in the past. Drones have recently been spotted at three US air bases in the UK, with the objects seen at United States Air Force (USAF) instalments in RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall, in Suffolk, and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk.
The sightings, while confirmed to have been drones, have prompted a new discussion about UFOs, with members of the public being initially confused when they saw lights darting through the night’s skies. Ms Martin said she and her crew were similarly shocked, adding she was “something that you really can’t explain”.
She said: “I think we were astonished, and it was something that you really can’t explain but I don’t have the qualifications to know what that is.”
