The Arizona Wildcats continue to mold and shape their roster for the upcoming season, and a new piece has been added from the Transfer Portal.
On Wednesday, former USC defensive lineman Stanley Ta’ufo’ou announced his transfer to Tucson.
Ta’ufo’ou played five seasons in Los Angeles, with his best year coming in 2022. He played in 14 games with 13 starts and racked up 27 tackles, 5.5 for loss, with a sack and a fumble recovery. All-in-all, he totaled 55 tackles, 7.5 for a loss, a sack and two fumble recoveries in his career with the Trojans. He started 27 career games at ‘SC.
Once he hit the portal on April 16, Ta’ufo’ou kept his recruitment pretty quiet. Due to that, it is unknown which schools offered him.
The 6-foot-2, 275 pound lineman was a 3-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting class out of Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley, Calif.
Ta’ufo’ou didn’t seem to have the development needed to reach his full potential while in LA. It’ll be interesting to see the steps he takes in Tucson. One thing’s for sure: he brings a lot of Power Four starting experience with him and that is something that cannot be overlooked.
He becomes the 12th transfer addition for Arizona this spring, the fourth on the defensive line.
