Is that a surfboard? NASA captures UFO-like image near the Moon

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) captured a mysterious-looking sliver of an object orbiting the Moon last month.

Predictably, some took to social media to say NASA’s image showed a UFO flying near the Moon. Others highlighted the object’s resemblance to a silver “surfboard” like the one used by Marvel’s Silver Surfer.

The truth might not be as revelatory, but it’s still very impressive. That is, because, according to NASA, the LRO team needed “exquisite timing” to pull this picture off.
