In a shocking claim, a retired senior Pentagon official said that a UFO “mother ships” had been “releasing swarms of smaller craft” which has added more mystery to the intrusions over multiple US military bases.
The statement came at a time when the Air Force’s 50-page records revealed about the provocative ‘drone’ incursions, which one general called “Close Encounters at Langley.”
As per the report, in last December, multiple noisy and small UFOs were spotted at dusk for nearly 17 nights “moving at rapid speeds” and displaying “flashing red, green, and white lights” which penetrated the highly restricted airspace which was above Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, senior ex-Pentagon security official Chris Mellon said that the event was “part of a much larger pattern affecting numerous national security installations.”
“Two of the notable aspects,” he said, adding, “are the fact our drone signal-jamming devices have proven ineffective and these craft are making no effort to remain concealed.”
“In fact, in some instances, it is clear they want to be seen as though taunting us,” Mellon said.
Security experts say maybe they were ‘Chinese drones’
Mellon, who earlier worked as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence under both Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush, said while speaking to DailyMail.com that “a similar series of intrusions has also occurred over Palmdale, CA.”
Palmdale is the home of defence contractor Lockheed Martin’s classified ‘Skunk Works’ which was behind the F-22.
Speaking to The War Zone, Edwards Air Force Base spokesperson said that investigators were “monitoring’ that situation to ‘determine if there is any ill intent and, even if not, we are trying to find out why or who is doing it.”
“I make no claims regarding their origin, perhaps many are Chinese drones,” said Mellon, while speaking to DailyMail.com.
“But their brazenness, range, flight duration, reliability, resistance to countermeasures and indifference to detection are confounding. In some cases “mother ships” have been reported,” he added.
“These ‘mother ships’ were extremely fast larger vehicles that have been observed collecting or releasing a swarm of smaller craft,” Mellon said.
